Hannah @tattsbyhan
“I ASKED (BEGGED) FOR AN APPRENTICESHIP FOR 2 YEARS UNTIL THEY SAID YES.”
HOW DID YOU FIRST GET INTO TATTOOING?
I got into tattooing by asking (begging) one studio in particular for an apprenticeship over 2 years until they finally said yes.
WHAT WERE YOU INTO BEFORE TATTOOING?
I was always into art.
I would draw all over myself and my books
during school and started painting a lot during covid.
WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO WORK AT ZANDAKA?
Cool shop vibe
and I guess the people are alright too.
BIGGEST INFLUENCES INSIDE OR OUTSIDE TATTOOING?
My grandpa Bernie is probably my biggest influence. He spray paints cars and
I would sit with him for hours on end learning how to draw
when I was younger.
FAVOURITE THING TO TATTOO?
I haven’t been tattooing for very long so I don’t really have a favourite thing to tattoo yet.
All styles are welcome,
but I would love to get into some animal realism.
WHAT STYLES OR SCENES OUTSIDE TATTOOING INFLUENCE YOUR WORK THE MOST?
I wouldn’t say this directly influences my work, but when I’m
out in nature it definitely gets the ideas flowing.
WHAT’S USUALLY PLAYING IN YOUR HEADPHONES?
COUNTRYYYY
Sam Barber and Zach Bryan.
FAVOURITE MELBOURNE SPOT?
ZANDAKAAAA
WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT TATTOOING?
Taking care of and playing with my animals.
WHAT’S SOMETHING PEOPLE PROBABLY WOULDN’T EXPECT ABOUT YOU?
MY HEIGHT
WHAT DO YOU THINK MAKES ZANDAKA DIFFERENT?
You can see the hard work
that’s been put into the shop, and the socials behind the scenes.
WHAT DOES “BUILT FOR THE SCENE” MEAN TO YOU?
BUILT FOR MELBOURNE / YOU.
QUICK FIRE
